Enjoy 'A Night at the Movies' with the Buffalo Wind Symphony

The Buffalo Wind Symphony will present “A Night at the Movies,” a concert event celebrating music from iconic motion pictures. This experience is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the McKinley High School Auditorium, 1500 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. For tickets, visit buffalowinds.org/tickets

Under the baton of conductor Amy J. Steiner, the Buffalo Wind Symphony will perform iconic scores from blockbuster movies such as “Jurassic Park,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Polar Express,” “Star Wars,” “Avengers: Endgame,” “Harry Potter,” “Frozen,” “E.T.,” “Star Trek,” “Superman” and “Moana.”

Organizers said, “In a special multimedia presentation that will accompany the music, audiences will be treated to a truly immersive experience, blending live performance with the essence of cinematic storytelling.

“Meet-and-greets and photo opportunities will be available with beloved characters including Princess Leia, Mad-Eye Moody, Indiana Jones and Mando. Attendees of all ages are encouraged to dress up as their favorite movie characters.”

Admission is $20, with free entry for children under 18. Candy concessions will be available, too – just like at the movies.

The Buffalo Wind Symphony is a community band comprised of more than 80 musicians from across Western New York. Its press release added, “With a mission to invoke experiences and memories through music, the ensemble excels in its craft, serving the community and fostering fellowship. As a unique wind symphony, it offers audiences the chance to experience the difference.”
