SUNY Niagara Press Release
NASA has chosen SUNY Niagara as a site for a variety of presentations and exhibits related to the April 8 solar eclipse. Presentations from two members of the agency will anchor an impressive slate of events centered around the celestial phenomena.
Janet Petro, director of the Kennedy Space Center, and NASA astronaut Jeremy Hansen will visit the college’s Sanborn campus to speak, capping an impressive slate of events centered on the eclipse.
SUNY Niagara has scheduled programming during the days leading up to the eclipse, with a wide range of opportunities to celebrate this rare cosmic event. The festivities begin April 4 and continue April 5 and 6. Hansen will speak from 11 a.m. to noon April 6 in the college’s fine arts auditorium. April 8, the day of the eclipse, will also include events and presentations to celebrate this phenomenon. Petro will speak at 9 a.m. April 8.
“We are thrilled to team up with NASA to put on an array of events for this once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said SUNY Niagara Vice President of Academic Affairs Lydia Ulatowski. “We encourage our students, faculty, staff and members of the community to take part in what will be a unique occasion.”
