Press Release
Monday, April 8, will be a day for the history books in Western New York: This region is in the path of totality for a solar eclipse, and there are plenty of opportunities to engage around this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
What impact – if any – will this experience have on mental wellness? If health is sometimes shaped by changes in the atmosphere and behaviors respond to the rise of a full moon, will a few moments of darkness at midday also have an impact?
“Spectrum Health Journey,” the monthly podcast produced by Spectrum Health and Human Services, ponders this in a discussion with John Szalasny, a member of the Sierra Club Niagara executive committee, and Mackenzie Gullo, a clinician at Spectrum Health. The podcast is hosted by Spectrum Health Program Director Malene White and local business executive Bob Stachura.
