Louise Kuhn Zelonis died peacefully after a short illness on Dec. 21, 2023 – the winter solstice – in Elderwood at Wheatfield at the age of 92.
Louise is survived by her daughters: Laureen (Doug) Hess of Evergreen, Colorado, and Lynn (David) Mikulski of Grand Island; six grandsons: Cody, Tucker and Benjamin Hess, Quinn, Travis and Jack Mikulski; her brother, Theodore Kuhn; her, sister Sheila (Merle) Palmiter; five nieces and a nephew. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Larry; her son, David Zelonis; parents Charlotte and Clinton Kuhn; and her sister, Judith Lorenzini.
Louise was a wonderful mother and wife, had many friends, and was fun to be around. She loved animals and always had a cat in the house. Louise had many interests and hobbies. She was formerly a member of Home Bureau, River Lea Quilters, GI Community Chorus, Golden Agers, and Recovery International. Recovery Int. assisted Louise in self-help and she received much support from members.
She enjoyed gardening, bike riding, “Scrabble” with Larry, antiquing, aerobics with Karen, quilting, boating, reading, playing cards, listening to music, bowling, and traveling to Florida in the winter.
