On Wednesday at 3:21 p.m., the Niagara County Sheriff's Office dispatch center received a call reporting a house fire at 999 Balmer Road, Lot C16, in the Town of Porter.
Niagara County Sheriff's Office deputies and the Lewiston Police Department responded and confirmed the residence was on fire.
Following the evacuation of the residents, the fire was subsequently extinguished by members of the Youngstown, Ransomville and Lewiston No. 1 fire companies. The residence sustained moderate fire and smoke damage. No injuries were reported.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is being conducted by the Niagara County Fire Investigation Unit.
