The BISON Children’s Scholarship Fund hired Clara Moran as the organization’s new executive director.
“We are thrilled to have Clara on-board,” BISON President Chris Jacobs said. “Clara’s Catholic Charities experience is a perfect fit as she understands the needs of the families we serve. She has also worked with many of our current board members who have also been involved in past Catholic Charities Appeal campaigns."
Moran previously served as chief development officer for Catholic Charities and as director of appeal advancement. She is currently the chief development officer for the Masonic Medical Research Institute.
BISON initiated an executive director search due to the announced departure of longtime Executive Director Amy Popadick. She is leaving BISON to take a position with the Children’s Scholarship Fund, a national school choice organization that partners with the BISON Fund.
“We will greatly miss Amy, but we are thrilled for the exciting opportunity she has to be involved with educational empowerment on the national level,” Jacobs said.
Founded in 1994, BISON provides scholarships to help low-and-moderate income families afford to send their children to private elementary and high schools. Currently, BISON provides scholarships to over 1,800 children in Western New York.
