Celebratory event features auctions, ‘Happy Meal Pull,’ heartwarming moments, live music, and more
Ronald McDonald House Charities of WNY invites the community to join in celebrating its 40th anniversary at “The Ruby Jubilee.” This special event – a commemoration of four decades of supporting families in need – is Saturday, Dec. 9, at The Powerhouse by Rich Entertainment Group. Organizers said, “The organization's anniversary party promises an unforgettable evening of celebration, fundraising and philanthropy – all supporting the charity’s vital mission.”
“We are overjoyed to mark this incredible milestone with our supporters, volunteers and community partners,” said Kevin Brayer and George Terhaar, event committee co-chairs. “ ‘The Ruby Jubilee’ is not just a celebration of 40 years of service; it’s a testament to the community’s unwavering dedication to helping families when they need it the most. With support from the Western New York community and beyond, RMHC of WNY provides many supportive programs and valuable resources to families during their medical journey. We are deeply grateful for the continued generosity that allows RMHC of WNY to fulfill its mission.”
Organizers added, “Throughout the night, attendees can participate in live and silent auctions featuring unique and exclusive items. Mercedes Wilson, host of ‘7Life,’ is the master of ceremonies; and John Di Sciullo, promotion and production manager at WBBZ-TV, is the auctioneer. The evening affair will also include an elegant cocktail hour, where guests can mingle and enjoy refreshments before a formal dinner.
“The highlight of the evening will be the mission moment, offering guests an opportunity to learn RMHC of WNY's impact on the families during their medical journey. In addition, live entertainment from The Honeymooners with Scott Celani, its award-winning frontman, and dancing will keep the energy high, ensuring a night of joy and camaraderie.
“To add an extra layer of excitement while giving a nod to McDonald's, the organization's founding and forever mission partner, RMHC of WNY is introducing a ‘Happy Meal Pull.’ This fun activity provides guests an opportunity to purchase a McDonald's Happy Meal box, each one will contain a different prize.”
Dress in red! In the spirit of the occasion, guests are encouraged to wear semi-formal red attire, symbolizing the organization’s milestone anniversary year.
“The Ruby Jubilee” will be held at The Powerhouse by Rich Entertainment Group, 140 Lee St., Buffalo, starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at rmhcwny.org/ruby-jubilee until Nov. 15. All proceeds will benefit RMHC of WNY.
