“Cheers to 30 Years” is the theme of Cardinal O’Hara High School’s 30th “Hawk-tion” gala on Friday, Nov. 3, at Banchetti’s by Rizzo in Amherst.
A press release stated, “The event has a long history of success with proceeds dedicated to scholarships, improved technology, building enhancement and the continued development of new and exciting curriculum and academic programs.”
At 6 p.m., doors will open and guests will be served hors d’oeuvres along with an open bar with signature drinks, while having the opportunity to bid on hundreds of silent auction items set up in the student dining room and in the adjoining hallways.
Bidding on the hundreds of auction items, including travel packages, Christmas décor, dinners and toys, will continue until 8 p.m. when a sit-down steak and chicken dinner will be served at Banchetti by Rizzo in Amherst.
A live auction will begin as dinner ends and concludes with a grand prize and raffle drawings.
The event has raised more than $1 million since its inception.
Hundreds of volunteers, including students, parents, alumni and staff, work to ensure the success of “Hawk-Tion.”
Chairing this year’s event are doctors Charles and Donna Matlock; aided by Matthew Kennedy; Julia Muscarella, Class of 2013; Aly O'Neil-Kennedy, '13; and Nancy LaTulip, '71.
Sponsorship opportunities are offered and include business and individual sponsorships as well as ads in the program. For more information, call or email Renee Orr.
