On Sept. 28, at approximately 22:27 hours, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office communications center received a radio transmission from Deputy Kenny, an off-duty Niagara County Sheriff's Office deputy, reporting a motor vehicle accident with serious injury at the intersection of Lockport-Cambria Townline Road and Upper Mountain Road in the Town of Cambria.
Preliminary investigation shows two motorcycles were traveling southbound on Lockport-Cambria Townline Road. When the first motorcycle was at or approaching the intersection, the second motorcycle struck the first in the rear end.
Both drivers appeared to have been ejected from their motorcycles. The male driver of the first motorcycle was transported to ECMC for medical evaluation and treatment. The female driver of the striking motorcycle was transported to ECMC with serious injuries.
Investigation by the Niagara County accident investigation unit is continuing.
