Annual event, called ‘Dentistry Smiles for Veterans,’ is now its eighth year
By the University at Buffalo
The University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine will present its eighth annual “Dentistry Smiles for Veterans” on Nov. 11, an initiative dedicated to honoring veterans.
Throughout the day, up to 200 veterans – many of whom lack dental insurance or do not qualify for dental treatment through the Veterans Health Administration, a benefit reserved only for those with service-related dental injuries – will receive care that ranges from simple cleanings to oral surgery.
The event will be staffed by more than 200 professionals, including Buffalo-area dentists and hygienists, and UB dental students, faculty and staff. It runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. All veterans are welcome. Appointments are limited. To schedule a visit, call 716-829-2780.
Services will be offered at the UB Dental Clinic, located in Squire Hall on South Campus.
“Dentistry Smiles for Veterans” is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the UB School of Dental Medicine and the Eighth District Dental Society, a partnership dedicated to ensuring our veterans receive the care they deserve.
