Niagara County announces upcoming road closures

Niagara County Legislature Will Collins, chairman of the infrastructure committee, today announced three upcoming road closures as the Department of Public Works undertakes several culvert replacement projects this fall. The three culvert replacements were bid as one project, with Edbauer Construction submitting the lowest bid.

“We continue to make investment in our roads and bridges a top priority, and our DPW team, led by Commissioner Meal, has successfully completed numerous projects over the last few years,” Collins said. “Hopefully, we will have good weather this fall so we can keep the inconveniences to motorists at a minimum and complete these projects on time.”

The upcoming culvert replacement will impact the following roads:

√ Chestnut Road in Wilson will be closed between North and Bebee roads starting Tuesday, Sept. 5. Construction is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 31.

√ Beattie Avenue in Lockport will be closed between Collins Drive and Dysinger Road starting Monday, Sept. 18. Construction is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 31. 

√ Ransomville Road in Porter will be closed between Balmer and Moore roads starting Monday, Oct. 2. Construction is scheduled to be completed by Oct. 31. 

Collins said message signs will be setup one week prior to work starting at each location to alert motorists, and detour signs will be clearly posted.
