After a pandemic hiatus, the annual “Farewell to Summer” gala evening returns on Thursday, Sept. 7. Invited to attend is The Most Rev. Michael Fisher, bishop of Buffalo. The annual event will be held from 6-9 p.m. at Kiebzak’s Beginnings, 38 Crocker St., Sloan. All proceeds will benefit “Seminarians of the Diocese of Buffalo.”
Rev. Richard Augustyn, director of pastoral care/volunteer services at the Buffalo General Hospital and director of the St. Jude Center for Pastoral Care and Wellness, is chairperson.
This event incorporates a sit-down dinner, auction, and split club raffle with all proceeds to be used to prepare men for the priesthood.
Tickets for the dinner are $40 per person and are available by mail. Include a self-addressed envelope together with check payable to St. Jude Center, c/o Edward J. Reska, 4654 Kingswood Lane, Hamburg, NY 14075; or call 716-648-0370 for more information. Deadline for reservations is Aug. 26.
