National safety expert to share latest defensive driving techniques

By AAA of Western and Central New York

With car crashes on the rise and roads becoming increasingly dangerous, AAA Western and Central New York is taking a proactive approach by hosting its annual “Safety Rodeo” for fleet drivers.

AAA drivers will learn the latest defensive driving techniques and maneuvers on a closed course at the University at Buffalo. A renowned driving instructor is taking part in the training in an effort to ensure drivers are up-to-date and can avoid mishaps on the road. Studies show that these trainings are effective in giving drivers the experience they need to stay safe on the roads.

The program is designed to help drivers strategically avoid crashes. The instructor will highlight actions to improve safety for both drivers and fellow motorists.

The event takes place at the University at Buffalo North Campus (Governors Lot C&D) from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2; from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday; and 8 a.m. until noon Friday.
