Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Chevelle Sherrill, age 44, of Niagara Falls, plead guilty this morning to manslaughter in the first degree in the killing of Calvin Wroten, age 48, also of Niagara Falls, on Jan. 5, 2022. Sherrill admitted to shooting Wroten, who was her boyfriend, with a shotgun inside the apartment they shared.
Sherrill is remanded to the Niagara County Jail and will return to court on Aug. 17 for sentencing. County Court Judge John Ottaviano agreed to sentence Sherrill to a term of 20 years in state prison followed by five years of post-release supervision.
