Fallsview to host 'Ricky Nelson Remembered,' The String Cheese Incident

Two great performances have been added to our busy entertainment lineup at Fallsview Casino, as we welcome “Ricky Nelson Remembered” starring Matthew and Gunnar Nelson on Sept. 11-13 at the Avalon Theatre, and The String Cheese Incident on Sept. 21 at the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino.

A musical celebration of America’s first “teen idol” Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Ricky Nelson will be taking place at the Avalon Theatre when Matthew and Gunnar Nelson present an interactive, multimedia rock ‘n’ roll concert experience. They will be taking the audience on a journey down memory lane and performing to their dad’s greatest hits, including “Poor Little Fool,” “Hello Mary Lou,” “Travelin’ Man,” “I’m Walking” and “Garden Party,” alongside their self-penned chart-toppers “Love & Affection” and “After the Rain.”

“The Avalon Theatre is thrilled to host Matthew and Gunnar Nelson,” said Cathy Price, vice president of marketing for Niagara Casinos. “It is the perfect venue for the brothers to connect with our audience and perform this rock ‘n’ roll tribute to one of the greats.”

Fans can also catch The String Cheese Incident live on Sept. 21 at the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino. They are America's quintessential jam band, effortlessly traversing genres and styles to create a truly sweeping live experience that incorporates elements of bluegrass, electronica and psychedelia into their rock-based sound. Formed in 1993 in Colorado's Rocky Mountains, the band have released six albums, including their recent album, “Believe,” in 2017, three DVDs, and countless live recordings from their relentless tour schedule.

“We are excited to see The String Cheese Incident’s musical creativity and theatrical elements live at the OLG stage,” Price said. “They are talented musicians that improvise freely atop a full-throttle rhythm section that is innovative and will be thrilling for our guests.”
