The First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston has named the Rev. Catherine Rieley-Goddard as its new minister, effective May 1.
Having grown up in Pittsburgh, she is a graduate of Florida State University and Louisville Presbyterian Seminary. Cathy and her late husband, Jon, moved to Buffalo in 1992 where both of them served churches in the Western New York area.
An active community organizer, Rev. Rieley-Goddard has extensive experience in program development, fundraising, board and management development, and organizing programs that aid the underserved.
“I look forward to my ministry with the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston and the opportunities we have as a congregation to grow our membership and service to the Greater Lewiston and Niagara community,” Rieley-Goddard said. “Our rich history as the oldest church in the village gives us a unique position to reach out to all those wishing to worship or simply connect in other ways with our church family.”
Rieley-Goddard will serve both Lewiston Presbyterian and the historic First Presbyterian Church of Niagara Falls.
The Lewiston church is located at 505 Cayuga St., and is handicapped accessible. Worship is Sunday at 11:15 a.m., and all are welcome.
