Thanks to the support of the Western New York community, nearly 100 bowlers and a small but mighty team of volunteers, Team RPCS – Roswell Park Cessation Services – raised more than $6,000 on Sunday, April 23, during the third annual Russell J. Salvatore Bowling Open at Tonawanda Bowling Center. All proceeds will support the 2023 Ride for Roswell, scheduled to take place Saturday, June 24.

More than 70 people participated in a family and friends bowl from 1-3 p.m. during the event, and another 24 bowlers participated in a singles no-tap bowling tournament later in the afternoon. Eventgoers enjoyed more than 100 basket raffle items, as well as 50/50 drawings and door prizes.

Legendary restaurateur Russell J. Salvatore rolled a ceremonial “first ball” to kick off the day’s events. Salvatore donated a multitude of generous prizes throughout the day, including dinners at Russell’s Steaks, Chops & More and overnight stays at Salvatore’s Grand Hotel.
