Legendary songstress Gladys Knight to perform live at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino on July 14

A true legend is coming to Niagara Falls when Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino welcomes Gladys Knight to the Seneca Niagara Event Center at 8 p.m. Friday, July 14. Tickets go on sale at noon on Friday, April 28.

A press release stated, “Gladys Knight is known as the ‘Empress of Soul’ for very good reason. From the time she won ‘The Original Amateur Hour’ TV show at age 8 through today, Knight has been a signature voice in American music.”

Her long list of hit songs with her group, the Pips, includes “I Heard It Through the Grapevine,” “If I Were Your Woman,” “Help Me Make It Through the Night,” “Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye),” “Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me,” and “Midnight Train to Georgia.” She was also part of the quartet of stars, along with Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder and Elton John, that delivered the mega hit “That’s What Friends Are For.”

Knight’s career honors include seven Grammy Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, enshrinement in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Lifetime Achievement Awards from BET and the Soul Train Music Awards, and a spot on Rolling Stone’s list of the “100 Greatest Singers of All Time.” In 2022, Knight was presented with the Kennedy Center Honors for her contributions to American culture. The Oak Ridge Boys to Bring Legendary Country Sound to Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino

Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino announced The Oak Ridge Boys will bring their “Front Porch Singin’ Tour” to the Seneca Allegany Event Center at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 22. Tickets go on sale at noon this Friday, April 28.

A press release noted, “The Oak Ridge Boys first stepped onstage together 50 years ago, and they have been thrilling audiences ever since. The quartet’s blend of gospel and country music, along with its exquisite harmonies, helped propel the Oak Ridge Boys to superstardom and the top of the charts.”

They have produced 17 No. 1 hits on the Billboard country singles chart, including “I’ll Be True to You,” “Bobbie Sue,” “I Guess It Never Hurts to Hurt Sometimes,” “Make My Life With You,” and the all-time classic “Elvira,” among many others. Along the way, the Oak Ridge Boys have sold more than 40 million albums and earned scores of industry honors, including multiple Academy of Country Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards, and Grammy Awards. The band has also been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame. Tickets start at $25.

Comedian Margaret Cho, Rock ‘n’ Roll Star Frankie Avalon Added to Bear’s Den Showroom

Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino’s welcomes comedy superstar Margaret Cho for two nights of laughs on Friday and Saturday, July 7-8 (8 p.m.), as part of the “Barrel of Laughs” comedy series. Legendary rock 'n' roll star Frankie Avalon will perform live at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, July 28-29. Tickets go on sale at noon Friday.

The press release explained, “Margaret Cho is a multitalented comedian, musician, entrepreneur and advocate who's been making audiences laugh for decades. With her thought-provoking humor and irreverent style, Cho has earned a spot as one of Rolling Stone Magazine's ‘50 Best Stand-Up Comedians of All Time.’ With five Grammy and Emmy nominations to her credit, Cho is a true superstar of comedy. Kick back, relax, and get ready for two nights of laughs!” This is an 18-years-and-older show. Tickets start at $45.

Finally, the press release stated, “Frankie Avalon is a legendary American teen idol known for timeless hits like ‘Venus,’ ‘Why’ and ‘Beauty School Dropout,’ among others. He's also famous for his iconic roles in a string of beach party movies with Annette Funicello, which propelled him to pop culture icon status. In addition, Avalon is a gifted actor, entrepreneur, and National Ambassador for the National Arthritis Foundation. With his magnetic stage presence and unforgettable style, Avalon is sure to deliver a performance that will have audiences singing along, dancing in the aisles, reliving great memories and making new ones.” Tickets start at $65.
