Eight Days of Hope (EDOH) is announcing its fourth eight-day outreach since 2019 to help the City of Good Neighbors with free home repairs over the summer.

From July 15-22, more than 1,300 volunteers will serve 100 families in the Lovejoy District. Some of these repairs will include painting, porch replacement, window installation, roofing, landscaping and concrete work.

“It’s humbling to see the City of Good Neighbors come together to serve one another,” EDOH President Steve Tybor said. “Whether it’s through landscaping or roofing or painting, the impact that is made through the love of volunteers lasts beyond what we can imagine.”

EDOH will partner with over 60 local businesses and churches, including Elim Christian Fellowship Church, where it will be headquartered during the outreach, to provide the materials and funds necessary for this outreach.

EDOH invites the public to join in this summer in the Lovejoy District. To volunteer or for more information, visit www.eightdaysofhope.com.

The ministry also invites those who need home repairs in the Lovejoy District to apply for assistance. To qualify, one must own and reside in their home, and the home must be in the Lovejoy District. To pick up an application, visit 852 Kensington Ave., or visit www.eightdaysofhope.com. The deadline to apply for assistance is May 8.

Except for a small staff, Eight Days of Hope is an all-volunteer organization. Visit  www.eightdaysofhope.com for more information, to provide financial support, or to volunteer.
