Grand Island Garden Walk back for 2023

Mon, Apr 24th 2023 07:00 am

Mark your calendars! On Sunday, July 9, the Grand Island Garden Walk will return with many new gardens on the list of participants.

The Western New York region has earned a reputation for its many summer garden walks and tours that occur in the community, and the Grand Island Garden Walk Committee is proud to be part of this local tradition.

With warmer weather and spring already here, many people are thinking about planting and getting outside. If you may be interested in opening your gardens this year, we invite you to join the 2023 Grand Island Garden Walk to share your gardening endeavors with the community. All kinds of gardens, from large to small, shady to sunny, are invited to participate. Even if you may have just begun learning and creating your gardens, come join in on the fun! The Grand Island Garden Walk is a free event for participating gardens and for the public.

If you are interested in placing your gardens in this year’s walk, you have until June 1 to submit your applications. Call Jan at 716-465-7396 or Nancy at 716-435-9738 for an application form, or contact us at [email protected].

Donations to support the 2023 Grand Island Garden Walk are also gratefully accepted, and the contributions will help make this year’s event a continued annual success. Checks can be made payable to Bridgeview Garden Club and mailed to 3280 Stony Point Road, Grand Island, NY 14072. We are grateful to all who open their gardens to the public, and for the continued generous support of individuals and local businesses.

Get ready to explore the Island and its beautiful gardens and natural scenery during the Grand Island Garden Walk from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 9. Garden Walk maps will be available on the day of the walk at the Town Commons Gazebo, 2255 Baseline Road. Further information can be found at www.gardensbuffaloniagara.com or on our Facebook page (grandislandgardenwalk).
