The Council for Older Adults and the Dale Association announced the creation of a web page listing all the senior citizen groups/clubs and senior centers in Niagara County, and with contact information and where they meet.

Organizers said, “It was created so that all the seniors of Niagara County (47,000) would have one source where they could find senior activities in their area.

“Senior centers allow you to stay socially active. Even when you are living with someone, it is easy to isolate yourself away from people. Senior centers are definitely a way to enjoy much of what life has to offer. You will meet new people and participate in community events.”

A press release offered “plenty of educational and arts programs to participate in,” including:

  • Volunteer opportunities.
  • Day trips
  • Recreational activities
  • Programs that offer information and assistance
  • Civic engagement opportunities
  • Exercise classes
  • Art classes
  • Social club meetings

The listing is located on the Dale Association website under “Events & Programs.” Click on “Social Center” and then choose “Senior Central of Niagara County.”

The press release added, “If there is a senior group or club that we missed, please let us know so that we can add you to our webpage. Contact Heather at the Council for Older Adults” (phone: 716-285-8224, ext. 215; email: [email protected]).
