Team registration deadline is Friday, April 14

With the slogan, “Think globally, quiz locally,” the International Institute of Buffalo seeks participants for “Community World Trivia 2023 – A Global Knowledge Contest.”

Organizers said, “ ‘Community World Trivia’ is an evening of fun fueled by some friendly competition. Businesses, schools and service providers from across the region send teams of six to compete for the coveted title of ‘Buffalo’s Most Globally Smart.’ ”

The ‘Community World Trivia Competition’ will take place from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at Roswell Park’s Research Studies Center, Gaylord Cary Conference Room, on Elm and Carlton streets in Buffalo.

“ ‘Community World Trivia’ is one of our most popular events,” said Jennifer Rizzo-Choi, executive director of the International Institute of Buffalo. “The room is always filled with teams of brilliant people having a lot of fun. You never know which team is going to come out on top!”

“Community World Trivia” is a global trivia competition and a fundraiser.

A press release noted, “Proceeds for this event fund vital global education programs for students, such as Academic World Trivia, Model United Nations, and GlobalKids; and community programs such as cultural competency training and the ‘Great Decisions Lecture Series.’ These programs bring global perspectives to Western New York, educate people about global affairs, and help the region become more culturally sensitive.”

Sponsorship for Community World Trivia is provided by GEICO Philanthropic Foundation and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
