Chef Lisa Cook’s and chef Caitlin Kucharski’s culinary arts students took on a challenge issued by the National Guard.
The Niagara Career and Technical Education Center students were asked by Steven Carney, educational liaison of the New York Army National Guard, Staff Sgt. Stock and Staff Sgt. Phillips to come up with a three-course meal out of military issued food rations, also known as MREs.
The students had a great time getting creative and coming up with a main course, appetizer and a dessert or drink.
“Our students had a lot of fun elevating the rations,” Cook said. “The National Guard judges were very impressed with what they came up with.”
