2023 scholarship applications available
On Sunday, March 19, the Kiwanis Club of Niagara-Wheatfield will host its annual pancake breakfast and basket raffle at the American Legion Post, 6525 Ward Road, in Sanborn.
In conjunction with New York state’s Maple Syrup Weekends, club members will flip all-you-can-eat hot, fluffy pancakes, served with warm real maple syrup, sausages, juice, Tim Hortons coffee, tea and milk.
Along with the breakfast will be tables of baskets awaiting to be raffled.
The event opens at 9 a.m. and continues to 1 p.m., with the pulling of raffle tickets beginning soon afterward. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 3 to 10 (children under 3 are free). Participants must purchase a pancake breakfast to enter the basket raffle.
Organizers said, “This is a fundraiser for our community kids, so enjoy a tasty breakfast and leisurely stroll through the available baskets.”
All proceeds will be allocated to the club’s children’s’ programs, including sending children to summer camp, leadership programs and scholarships, among others.
The applications for the Kiwanis Club of Niagara-Wheatfield 2023 scholarships are available, as is the Niagara-Wheatfield Kiwanis Foundation, Tom Beachy Scholarship. Applications are available at school guidance offices or by email at [email protected].
