Niagara Falls: 2 teens arrested in Kia & Hyundai thefts

In the ongoing battle against thefts of Kia and Hyundai motor vehicles, Niagara Falls Police have made arrests in several cases recently.

As part of the ongoing investigations, the Niagara Falls Police criminal investigation division detectives charged 19-year-old Buffalo resident with involvement with six separate thefts that originated in and out of Niagara Falls within the past month.

In total, this person has been charged with:

  • One count of grand larceny, fourth degree
  • Five counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, third degree
  • Five counts of criminal possession of stolen property fourth degree
  • One count of criminal mischief, fourth degree
  • One count of conspiracy, fourth degree
  • Six violations of the vehicle and traffic law

In addition, a 15-year-old female from Niagara Falls was charged for her role in two thefts. Her charges include:

  • Two counts of grand larceny, fourth degree
  • Two counts of criminal possession of stolen property, fourth degree
  • One count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, third degree
  • One count of criminal mischief, fourth degree
  • One count of conspiracy, fifth degree

The first person was issued appearance tickets for all the charges, was released, and is scheduled to appear in Niagara Falls City Court on March 6.The 15-year-old was issued an appearance ticket and released to a parent. She is required to report to Niagara County Probation.
