On Feb. 11 at 3:18 a.m., the Niagara County Sheriff's Office communications center received a 911 call reporting a male making suicidal statements, armed with a firearm, in the 3000 block of Ransomville Road in the Town of Porter.

Niagara County Sheriff's Office deputies responded and attempted to make contact with the male with negative results. Several attempts were made to contact the male through various means, but all attempts proved unsuccessful. Both the emergency response team and the hostage negotiation team were activated.

Ultimately, ERT operators were able to make entry into the residence and secure the male. A juvenile was also removed from the residence and placed in the custody of his mother.
