The staff of United Way of Greater Niagara has convened to discuss dates for United Way and Women United events, collection drives and projects through the end of 2023. The entire calendar is subject to change, but the current list is summarized below.

On Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, Women United of Greater Niagara will partner with the Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club and Health Association of Niagara County Inc. to bring valentines and chocolate to seniors in Niagara County.

Women United will also run an April community baby shower drive, a membership social in May, a hygiene drive in November, and will again partner with Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls, USA, to hold the annual “Boo Bash.” Dates for these events have not yet been finalized.

On May 6, the annual AFL/CIO Workers Memorial will be held at Reservoir State Park. Since 1992, this monument has been a tribute to the workers from the community who lost their lives due to work-related injuries or illness.

On June 7, United Way of Greater Niagara will once again organize a “Day of Caring.” Each year, UWGN plans to bring the community together in order to make a “tangible impact” on the area through community service projects at several locations throughout Niagara County and the Tonawandas. This culminates at a volunteer appreciation picnic at United Way’s Sanborn office.

On June 16, the annual “AFL/CIO Labor’s Night at the Races” will be held at Ransomville Speedway. This is a night where local labor gives back to the community they live and work in. This fundraising event is open to the community, and brings attention to the United Way of Greater Niagara and to the agencies who give help and hope to those in need.

On Sept. 22, United Way will hold its annual awards breakfast and campaign kickoff at Niagara Riverside Resort. This event honors those who have made a difference to the community through their support of United Way.
