The Youngstown Garden Club invites the community to attend its annual fundraiser, “Starry Night.” The event takes place from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown.
Guests will enjoy a complimentary glass of wine, a coffee bar with homemade desserts, and receive instruction on how to paint their very own galaxy wine glass – which is theirs to keep. Additionally, there will be both a silent auction and a live auction with many creative items to bid on.
Proceeds will benefit the general operating fund of the Youngstown Garden Club, to support the group’s ongoing civic beautification and educational projects – in addition to underwriting scholarships for local students.
Funds raised from “Starry Night” will also go to support two global safe drinking water initiatives: Water for South Sudan and The Navajo Water project.
“On a cold February night, this is the place to be,” said Rose Livingston, president of the Youngstown Garden Club. “The painting is easy, fun and fast, with no skills required. The auction part of the evening is fast-moving and exciting, and a great time to spend with friends. Winning bidders can pay with cash, check, credit cards or Venmo.”
The Youngstown Garden Club wishes to thank Wegmans, Hill of Beans Coffee Stop in Youngstown, and Hibbard's Old Portage Shop in Lewiston for sponsoring this event, as well as many local businesses and individuals for their donations of auction items. That includes Youngstown Marketside, Old Fort Niagara, Kathy's Hairport, Sister & Brother Shop, Favorites Pizza and Zehr's on the Lake Garden Center.
Tickets are priced at $30 and available for purchase at the Youngstown Village Diner, or by contacting Colleen Summerville at 716-531-6701.
