Sylvia Virtuoso announced the following:

It is my intention to officially announce my candidacy for Town of Niagara supervisor. I am starting my campaign by reaching out to the residents, family and friends, as well as fellow leaders of our community, to ask for your endorsements and support.

On Dec. 31, 2023, I will be completing my sixth and final term as town clerk for the Town of Niagara. It has been a pleasure and honor to serve our town in this capacity. I am supporting my deputy town clerk of 10 years, Melissa Cerrillo, who is running for this position. She is experienced and qualified, and I feel confident that the Town Clerk’s Office will continue to run efficiently and friendly as usual under Melissa’s direction.

If elected, I look forward to an exciting time ahead of leading our town, working with our elected leaders on all levels, the community, our outstanding and dedicated department heads and employees, as well as our residents and businesses.

Most of you know, I served in dual capacity in 2014 as town clerk and interim supervisor. I believe, with that experience and the knowledge I have achieved in my 24 years as town clerk, I have forged relationships that will continue to lead our town forward and progress successfully for the future of our residents and businesses alike.

I wish the current town supervisor, Lee Wallace, all the best in his retirement and future endeavors, as we have worked well together in the past nine years; and if elected, I look forward to his advice and ease of transition.

The one constant in my time at the town is that I have always been reachable for all your needs. I will continue that policy, and I strongly believe open communication is the key to success. If I do not have an answer for you, I certainly will try to find one. I will always take the time to listen and care, no matter how small or large your concerns are. My first priority, besides my family, is always doing what is right for the town, its residents and businesses.

As a resident of 40 years in the Town of Niagara, I would not have chosen any other place to raise my daughters with my husband, Guido, and will continue to share all the great Town of Niagara times with my four grandchildren and growing family.

I thank you in advance for your support. I promise to not disappoint you, and hope you all believe in me enough to get out and vote Sylvia Virtuoso, Town of Niagara town supervisor.
