On Wednesday, Niagara County Sheriff’s Office communications center received multiple 911 calls reporting a residential structure fire at a two-story house on Ridge Road in the Town of Cambria. It was reported there was likely one person still inside the residence.
Patrols responded on scene to find smoke coming from multiple areas of the residence. Deputies unsuccessfully attempted to make entry to the residence, due to heavy smoke and fire. Fire crews arrived on location to begin extinguishing the blaze.
After a period of time, the fire was extinguished and a 69-year-old male resident was found to have perished in the fire.
Niagara County Origin & Cause Unit will be investigating.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification to family.
