Free event is Saturday
Old Falls Street USA will host the 12th annual Oktoberfest from 1-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24. The free event features entertainment and activities for the whole family. This themed festival will have authentic German cuisine, beer and wine, along with music from the German-American Musicians Association.
Organizers said, “Performances by the group include energetic sets of traditional German waltzes, polkas, marches, folk music, modern pop and more to get crowds in a dancing mood. In addition to the live entertainment, the festival will feature a hay maze and games for kids; and new this year will be a stein hoisting competition. With different categories for men, women and children, each will compete for a variety of prizes, including ice cream vouchers for kids and drink tokens for adults.”
