Party band Nerds Gone Wild will headline the return of “UB on the Green,” the University at Buffalo’s free outdoor performance series, which is back after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The family-friendly, alcohol-free event takes place from 5-8 p.m. July 21 on the Hayes Hall lawn, located on the Main Street side of UB’s South Campus in Buffalo’s University Heights neighborhood. (Hayes Hall is the building with the clock tower.)

Free parking is available in the Townsend and Parker lots.

Members of the community can come learn about various university resources while listening to local music. Nerds Gone Wild will take the stage at 6:30 p.m.

“The Office of Community Relations is so excited to bring ‘UB on the Green’ back to Hayes Lawn this summer,” says Melissa Wood, assistant director of community relations. “It has always been such a wonderful opportunity to bring the campus community and the University Heights neighborhood together. We’re looking forward to an evening of great music and good company.”

Spectators are encouraged to bring a picnic meal, lawn chairs and blankets. Refreshments from the House of Munch and Lloyd Taco food trucks also will be available for purchase.
