Lace up your running shoes and come run with 1,000 or so fellow runners as they fill the street in front of the Ronald McDonald House at 6:30 p.m. and take their mark for the start of the 21st annual Ronald McDonald House Charities 5K Run on Wednesday, July 27. This prestigious race is named as the 2022 Buffalo News “Runner of the Year” race. The certified/sanctioned course takes runners through beautiful neighborhood streets.

“We look forward to reconnecting with our community through our annual run,” said Marianne Hoover, executive director, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York. “We’re excited to have activities for the whole family, including the free Fisher-Price Play Space. Registered runners will receive a custom runner’s hat and a picnic dinner, live music by the Scott Celani Band, and liquid refreshments at the post-run party! Guests are also welcome at the post-run party for just $10 each. This is a fun way for families and groups to raise money for a great cause, while exercising and having a good time.”

Event registration cost is $30 per runner through July 26 or $35 on race day (registration fee includes: custom runner’s hat, and post-run party). To register, visit https://runsignup.com/Race?raceId=86539.

Registration begins at noon at the Buffalo Ronald McDonald House at 780 West Ferry St., Buffalo. The run begins at 6:30 p.m., while the Fisher-Price Play Space operates from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Canisius High School’s Tripi Field – West Ferry entrance. The area is for children ages 8 and under, who must be accompanied by an adult. Awards will be given at the conclusion of the run. The party is set for 7-8:30 p.m.
