Miracle League receives donation

The Greater Buffalo Track Club and the Grand Island Half Marathon on June 9 donated $5,000 to the Miracle League of Western New York.

According to Brian McElroy, race director for the Grand Island Half Marathon, “From the half marathon, we designated the Miracle League of Western New York to receive a donation. We are able to make the donation through a combination of the entries of our runners, plus the support of many of our sponsors, such as Thermo-Fisher Scientific, Fuccillo Automotive Group, Fresenius Kabi, Tops Supermarkets, Diane Whitmore from Shackley, and Vienna Laurendi from Howard Hanna Real Estate, and Montana International. All of them here on Grand Island are very supportive of our work.”

After presenting the donation to representatives of the Miracle League of Western New York, McElroy and other members of the Greater Buffalo Track Club and the Grand Island Half Marathon buddied up with members of Miracle League teams and participated in a baseball game.
