Abawi joins Memorial's primary care team

Frishta Abawi, D.O., has joined the primary care team at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, located at the Lewiston Primary Care Center, 4600 Military Road, Suite A, Niagara Falls.

Abawi, who is accepting new patients, holds a bachelor’s in biology and health, science, society and policy from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. Following her time at Brandeis, she received a master’s in biomedical sciences from Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and a doctor of osteopathic medicine from Nova Southeastern University.

Abawi completed her residency at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, where she served as family medicine chief resident.

The 2019-20 recipient of the Cary F. Vastola D.O. Award, a recognition granted to an intern who demonstrates medical excellence and dedication to the Osteopathic profession, Abawi also served as a member of the Osteopathic Graduate Medical Educators at Sisters Hospital, and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and American Osteopathic Association.
