America has voted - and the newest 'American Idol' is Noah Thompson

Noah Thompson announced as next ‘American Idol’ winner during Sunday’s live, coast-to-coast grand finale event on ABC

Season 20 of “American Idol” concluded Sunday, as the final three competitors – Leah Marlene, Noah Thompson and Huntergirl – competed for the title. After three rounds of songs, Thompson was named the winner.

The season concluded in epic fashion with the top 3 hitting the stage in hopes of securing America’s vote, including one round dedicated to “The Boss,” Bruce Springsteen. In addition to the finalists, there were performances by superstar judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, as well as James Arthur, Sara Bareilles, Gabby Barrett, Michael Bublé, Deana Carter, Earth, Wind & Fire, Melissa Etheridge, Flo Rida, Ben Platt, Thomas Rhett and Tai Verdes.

Emmy Award-winning host and producer Ryan Seacrest hosts “American Idol.”
