The event will feature Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Bebe Winans, Lena Byrd Miles, Charles Jenkins, Israel Houghton and many other artists and faith leaders. “Many of us have worked for years to address gun violence in Black and brown communities across the country,” said the Rev. Michael McBride, executive director of LIVE FREE. “That another instance of white racial terror has been introduced to an already traumatized and under-resourced community is as appalling as it is frightening. While we cannot bring back the lives lost or immediately heal the trauma the massacre has caused, we do want to show this community that they are not alone.”

The event is hosted by VOICE Buffalo, Macedonia Baptist Church, Greater Refuge Temple, King Urban Life Center, Calvary Baptist Church, The Journey Church, New Cedar Grove Life Changing Church and more.

A press release stated, “LIVE FREE organizes communities directly impacted by gun violence and mass incarceration to build the necessary power and influence at the local, state and federal levels to ensure that these solutions are being implemented.”
