May 22 event to benefit Dion’s Dreamers
Dion Dawkins of the Buffalo Bills will host the “Dion Dawkins and Ilio DiPaolo’s Charity Cornhole Tournament” from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at The Lodge at Woodlawn Beach State Park. Put on with the help of the Buffalo Cornhole League, the tournament will feature two-person teams competing with one another in double-elimination style.
The cost is $25 per person or $50 per team, with proceeds going to Dawkins’ foundation, Dion’s Dreamers, which aims to provide mentorship and support to young men and women in underserved communities, as well as those in a place of mental, financial or physical hardship. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, silent and live auctions, and a chance to win a cash prize. Food and drink will be available for purchase at Solé at Woodlawn Beach.

The Lodge at Woodlawn Beach State Park is located at 3580 Lake Shore Road, Blasdell.
In 2020, Dion’s Dreamers was founded to provide mentorship and support to young men and women in underserved communities, as well as those in a place of mental, financial or physical hardship. Dion’s Dreamers also aims to advocate for vulnerable populations by increasing awareness of the environmental issues that directly affect their communities.
