The New York State Department of Transportation announced bridge joint repair will begin on a portion of Interstate 190 over Girard Avenue in the City of Niagara Falls. As a result, lane closures will occur.

At 7 a.m. Saturday, May 14, the center and right lanes will be closed on northbound Interstate 190 from Buffalo Avenue on-ramp to the end of the Girard Avenue bridge. Lanes are scheduled to reopen to traffic at 3 p.m.

This work is weather-sensitive and could be delayed in the event of inclement weather.

Motorists are advised to allow for extra travel time, and urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
