By Catherine Stella

Dear friends and neighbors of the Village of Youngstown,

I’m Catherine Stella and I am running to be your next Youngstown trustee. I’ve been a resident of the Village of Youngstown for 25 years. I’ve raised my family here. My children attended Lewiston-Porter schools.

It has always been my belief that serving the community is an honor and a privilege. When my kids were school-aged, I served with the Parent Teacher Association and took on leadership roles with both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. I was the women's moderator of the Youngstown Presbyterian Church for eight years and a Sunday school teacher there for several years.

Currently, I serve as a member of the Youngstown Free Library board of directors and also as a member of the Library Sustainability Committee. I’m also a board member for the Youngstown Business Professional Association and president of the Lewiston Chapter of the Lions Club. In all of these capacities, I am working to actively promote, protect and improve the quality of life and opportunities for our residents.

If elected, I will bring my education, experience and dedication to bridge the gap between our elected officials and the concerns of our residents and business leaders. I will work cooperatively with the Town of Porter to resolve issues of mutual concern. I will continue the beautification of our public parks, waterfront, and good neighbors at Fort Niagara. Youngstown is a beautiful and special place with enormous potential. I would be honored to represent you as your trustee and work to unlock that potential openly, transparently and responsively.
