Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will host a free community event at noon Wednesday, March 23, to recognize Colorectal Cancer Awareness and National GI Nurses & Associates Week.
The event will feature presentations from the medical center’s chief of bariatrics, Dr. Mojdeh Kappus; and gastrointestinal, general and bariatric surgeon Dr. Peter Muscarella II.
Muscarella will present on the management of pancreatic cysts, while Kappus will focus on diagnosis and treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Both surgeons will conclude the event by providing an update on colorectal cancer screening guidelines.
The event is in recognition of National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, which takes place each March. Light refreshments will follow, and all attendees will be entered into a drawing to win a Wegmans gift card or Tory Burch backpack.
