Per the Office of Mayor Robert Restaino:

Shortly before 4 a.m. Monday, March 14, Niagara Falls Police responded to the 7/11 at 2310 Hyde Park Blvd., for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers located a 32-year-old female suffering from a cut on her head. She told officers she and her boyfriend had been involved in an argument with the store’s clerk over a container of milk the two had purchased. The victim stated she discovered the milk was leaking when she left the store and tried to return it. NFPD said that, during the interaction, the store clerk hit the woman over the head with a weapon.

When AMR arrived on the scene, the victim complained of shoulder pain. EMTs discovered the victim appeared to have been shot once in the neck/shoulder area. She was transported to ECMC for treatment of her non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

The store clerk is facing felony charges related to the incident. That individual is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

The investigation is ongoing.
