Buffalo Bills & Sabres announce return of Give 716

Day of online giving for WNY charities will take place this summer from July 14-16

After raising more than $1.1 million to benefit Western New York charities during last summer’s Give 716, the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills announced the initiative will return this summer. Give 716 2022 will take place from 7:16 p.m. Thursday, July 14, to 7:16 a.m. Saturday, July 16, again coinciding with 716 Day.

Registration is now open for all local charities that wish to be a part of the event and benefit from the donations collected in the initiative. To register a Western New York charity for Give716, visit Give716.org.

“The Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres foundations were blown away by our community’s response to Give 716 last summer,” said event organizers Michelle Roberts (Bills Foundation) and Rich Jureller (Sabres Foundation). “After more than 7,000 donors participated and raised $1,133,622 for our local charities, we’re excited to see what 2022 brings. Western New York is an amazing and supportive community, and we look forward to again engaging our fans and working with partner organizations to support the crucial works of our local charities.”

Any qualified 501(c)(3) organization that is in good standing with the IRS and located or providing services in the eight counties of Western New York (Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, and Wyoming) will be eligible to participate and benefit from Give 716. There is no cost to register. Registered charities will receive access to their own admin dashboard where they’ll be able to track their progress during Give 716, access campaign resources such as toolkits and social media graphics, and receive the funds they’ve earned following a successful event. Charities are invited to sign-up now at Give716.org.

In 2021, the Western New York business community contributed more than $150,000 in corporate sponsorships to Give 716, all of which were donated to participating charities.
