At approximately 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1600 block of Pine Avenue for a report of a man shot. Upon arrival, patrol officers located the 29-year-old victim who had been shot in the upper arm.

The victim was transported to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of his non-life-threatening injury.

In addition to the victim, at least two rounds entered the building where a memorial was being held, with one nearly striking the deejay. A vehicle parked in front was struck, as well.

Investigators said it appears the victim was standing outside, at 1615 Pine Ave., when he was shot. This individual stated he did not know who or why someone would shoot him. However, at this point in the investigation, it appears the victim was the intended target of the gunfire.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Niagara Falls Police Departments criminal investigation division at 716-286-4553, or the general information number at 716-286-4711.
