The Niagara Falls Fire Department responded to two fires over the weekend. On Friday, a call at 9:32 p.m. reporting a structure fire, at 764 16th St., resulted in firefighters finding a two-story wood structure fully engulfed in flames. Upon extinguishing the fire, crews entered the building and found it was clear. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
At 5:26 a.m. on Sunday, firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire at 2658 Niagara Ave. Upon arrival, fire could be seen coming from the side of the second floor and attic of the two-and-a-half-story wood-framed house. Crews were able to extinguish the fire on the second floor and the attic. The Red Cross was called to assist one occupant. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
There were no injuries reported at either address.
