On Thursday afternoon, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received a telephone call reporting a house fire at 6030 Hoover Road in the Town of Wheatfield. When responding patrol units arrived on scene, all occupants had been evacuated, and the Sanborn Fire Co. was in the process of extinguishing the fire.
The NCSO press release said, “After the fire was extinguished, investigators determined the fire had begun in the basement area by contractors soldering pipes. The fire traveled up, inside the walls, into the kitchen. At this time there is no estimate of damage.”
