Niagara Arts Guild meeting canceled

Fri, Jan 7th 2022 10:05 am

The Niagara Arts Guild features self-taught artist Marc Daskavitz at its January meeting. Formerly an account manager for health care, Daskavitz retired to practice art full time after finding art therapeutic. He started with black and white drawings and now concentrates on using color theory to create abstract canvases.

Studying from books, magazines, graffiti art, and traditional artists work, Daskavitz confines his work to basic color and line. His presentation features both his work technique and his sources of inspiration. He won Best of Show for his abstract painting at the 2021 Niagara Arts Guild Fall Art Show.

This meeting and presentation begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, at the Dale Association, 33 Ontario St., Lockport. Niagara Arts Guild has been serving artists since 1948.
