The New York State Department of Transportation announced bridge deck repair work is scheduled on the southbound Interstate 190 bridge over U.S. Route 62 (Niagara Falls Boulevard) in the City of Niagara Falls. As a result, lane closures will occur.

Beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, traffic will be reduced to one lane on southbound Interstate 190 from Exit 22 (Route 62) to Exit 21A (LaSalle Expressway) until 3 p.m.

The road work is expected to last for one day. This work is weather-sensitive and could be delayed in the event of inclement weather.

Motorists are reminded to move over a lane, if safely possible, or slow down significantly whenever encountering roadside vehicles displaying red, white, blue, amber or green lights, including maintenance and construction vehicles in work zones.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
