Seneca Resorts & Casinos to welcome Smokey Robinson, Guitar Shorty, Terry Bradshaw

As 2022 approaches, Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino is gearing up with the sheer power of professional mixed martial arts and the star power of one of popular music’s greatest legends.

The Seneca Niagara Events Center will host an MMA card from Legacy Fighting Alliance at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, and Smokey Robinson will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, March 18. Tickets go on-sale at noon this Friday, Dec. 17.

Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) is a professional MMA promotion that gives rising stars and top contenders the opportunity to prove their talent to fans and leaders in the industry. LFA was formed in 2017 by the merger between RFA and Legacy FC. The Feb. 25 card at Seneca Niagara will be the first event under a new partnership between LFA and Seneca Resorts & Casinos.

Robinson is music royalty. He helped define the Motown sound, singing Motown’s first No. 1 hit, “Shop Around.” Throughout his legendary career, Robinson has delivered countless classics as both a member of The Miracles, and as a solo artist. Among his long list of hits are “You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me,” “Tears of a Clown,” “I Second That Emotion,” “Just to See Her” and “Cruisin.’ ” Robinson is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, and a Grammy Living Legend Award winner. Tickets start at $55.

Bear’s Den Showroom

Guitar Shorty will perform inside the Bear’s Den Showroom at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 3. Mark Farner takes the stage on Saturday, March 12 (8 p.m.), while Kelsey Cook and Jenny Jennings close things out with shows on Friday and Saturday, March 25-26 (8 p.m.), as part of the “Barrel of Laughs Comedy Night” series presented by iPLAYSENECA.

Guitar Shorty is a legendary blues guitarist, singer and songwriter. Known for his explosive guitar style and stage performances, he has been an entertainment force of nature since he began performing in the 1950s. Even in his 80s, he continues to tour, record new material, and wow audiences all over the world.

This show was originally scheduled for Friday, April 17, 2020. Tickets for the original date will still be honored. New tickets start at $35.

Farner is the legendary guitarist and front man who helped lead the original Grand Funk Railroad to stardom in the 1970s. His career highlights include the mega-hits “We’re An American Band,” “I’m Your Captain (Closer to Home)” and “Some Kind of Wonderful.”

This show was originally scheduled for April 25, 2020. Tickets for the original show will still be honored. New tickets start at $55.

Cook has spent the past decade touring the country and leaving laughter everywhere she goes. Since her debut stand-up special was released on EPIX’s “Unprotected Sets,” she has appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” “A Little Late with Lilly Singh,” as well as Comedy Central’s “This is Not Happening,” AXS TV’s “Gotham Comedy Live,” “Punchline” on FOX, “Uproarious” on FUSE and “Greatest Party Story Ever” on MTV. Cook has also co-hosted the “Self-Helpless” podcast. 

She will be joined at Seneca Niagara by comedian and actress Jennings. In addition to her stand-up work, Jennings is known for her weekly podcast “Rom-Comedians,” as well as her work on the web series “Church Hunters.” Tickets start at $35.

Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino

It may be December, but Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino is looking forward to spring, with two new show announcements. Seneca Allegany Events Center will welcome “The Terry Bradshaw Show” on Saturday, March 5 (8 p.m.), and a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship card on Saturday, March 12 (7 p.m.) Tickets go on sale at noon on Friday.

Bradshaw is a legendary NFL Hall of Fame quarterback and iconic entertainer. In his live stage set, Bradshaw entertains the crowd with his singing ability, endearing personality, and charisma in a 70-minute show that accounts his life’s journey. The production showcases Bradshaw’s vocal talents, award-winning storytelling style, and the same straight-shooting humor that has made Bradshaw an all-time favorite as an Emmy Award-winning co-host and analyst on “FOX NFL Sunday.” Tickets start at $12.
