Kenan Arts Council gift show and ‘Christmas Village’ debut Nov. 20

The Kenan Arts Council (KAC) holiday gift show is celebrating 40 years. To celebrate the longevity of this annual event, the Kenan Center Campus will transform into the Kenan “Christmas Village” on Nov. 20-21.

“For the first time, the Kenan Arts Council will host the show in the Kenan Arena,” KAC Chair Jane Corser said. “Members are excited to have the show here this year, as it gives everyone a chance to spread out and shop safely. Plans are being made to turn the space into a Christmas wonderland.”

Handcrafted work in all price ranges by more than 30 juried artisans and designers will fill the Kenan Arena for the holiday gift show. Returning crafters join with new artisans so that the show is always a "bit of the old and a bit of the new," Corser said.

In addition to the holiday gift show, the Kenan Campus will have a variety of events, including sleigh rides, story time with Santa and Mrs. Claus and the opening of the “Letters to Santa Mailbox” on Locust Street. Holiday music by Eddie’s Band Organ will be flowing throughout the campus.

The outside of the Kenan House Gallery will be transformed by the Lockport Public Arts Council. A temporary public art exhibit titled “Defenestration” by Ellen Martin will be installed on the outside for all to view.
